In mid September 2009, we opened our 6th school - Nyamitanga College, in the province of Cibitoke. Cibitoke is the most northerly and westerly province and is bordered by the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. It is another area where there are many returning refugee families and so the need for a school was great.

The school is built to our usual plan and was intended to accommodate around 500 children. At present, demand for school places is significantly higher and classes are currently running with between 70 and 90 children in each session!

The border areas of Cibitoke Province are still quite volatile, as there is still some cross-border fighting and movement of refugees. However, the area around our school is safe and stable.
